Meet Max
North Vancouver has been my home for 38 years.
This is where I built my life, raised my family and became part of a community I deeply care about. Through my work in technology, public service, business and community organizations, I have learned the value of listening, working with others and following through.
I am running for mayor because I know this community, understand the pressures residents are facing and believe I have the experience to improve how the District works for them.

Wastewater accountability
A necessary plant. Serious questions about a $3.86 billion project.
The North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant has to be built — it will serve more than 300,000 residents and businesses. But a necessary project should not become a blank cheque, and residents are owed the full picture.

Estimated impact on a North Shore household
Approximately $590 per year
Metro Vancouver estimates that the eventual average annual impact will be approximately $590 per North Shore household. The increase is being phased in over five years, and individual household charges may vary.
The North Shore portion is being financed over 30 years. The five-year phase-in does not mean the charge ends after five years.
Of the approximately $2.8-billion increase above the 2021 program estimate, roughly 37% was allocated to the North Shore and 63% to the rest of the region.
By 2029 the average North Shore household is projected to pay about $656 a year toward this plant — roughly 4.7 times the $139 projected for a Vancouver household.

These are Metro Vancouver estimates, not fixed charges. They are recalculated annually against actual construction spending, the amount borrowed, interest rates, household numbers, development cost charge revenue, grants and settlement proceeds. Each municipality also decides how its regional levy is distributed across properties, so an individual bill may differ.
Metro Vancouver has not published the household and per-area figures above in a document that can be linked directly. They come from reporting of the GVS&DD board decision of 31 May 2024, and are cited to that decision rather than presented as a Metro Vancouver publication.

Tuesday 6 October, 7:00 p.m. at Lynn Valley Library, and Thursday 8 October, 7:00 p.m. at Mount Seymour United Church. Both are run by community associations, not by this campaign.
