General voting day is Saturday, October 17, 2026. Voting places are open 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.. The District has published 22 voting places across the District; the map and the full list are on the District's voting page, linked below, and reproduced on this site's voting page.
You can vote at any voting place in the District on general voting day — you are not assigned to one. Pick the one that is easiest for you and go at a time you have decided in advance; people who choose a time are far more likely to vote.
Who can vote: you must be 18 or older on general voting day, a Canadian citizen, a resident of British Columbia for at least six months before you register, and living in the District of North Vancouver when you register. There is no minimum time you must have lived in the District. A registered owner of property in the District who lives elsewhere in B.C. may also be able to vote, with extra requirements, including 30 days of ownership.
If you are already on the voters list, you do not need identification to vote. If you are not, or you have moved or changed your name, you register at the voting place with two pieces of identification that together show who you are and where you live, at least one with your signature. If none of it shows your address, you can make a solemn declaration of where you live. Not sure you are on the list? Take two pieces with you.
If you cannot get to a voting place, you can vote by mail: any eligible District voter can. Ask the District for a mail ballot package before September 23, 2026 to have it mailed to you; after that, pick one up at District Hall, and none is issued after October 2, 2026. Every voting place also has a priority line, curbside voting and help marking the ballot. The details are on this site's voting page, and the District's own pages are the final word.
Advance voting is on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, Saturday, October 10, 2026 and Monday, October 12, 2026, at the places the District has published for each day. If you might be away or busy on the 17th, vote early.
Corrected September 18, 2026: this post first said that a resident must have lived in the District for at least 30 days, and that every voter must bring two pieces of identification. Neither is right. The 30 days applies only to non-resident property owners, and a voter already on the list needs no identification.
